Where does Obama stand on the Military?

March 19, 2007 11:40 am

I don’t think Obama really knows, but what we do know is that Obama
has never served or attempted to serve in the military and that he
called the lives lost in Iraq “wasted“. We also know that he was
against the funding of the military for both Afghanistan and Iraq.
So, in an effort to get a clearer picture of what Obama’s military
might look like, I thought I would post some pictures for you.

in comparison to the current crop of republican potentials, there isn’t an announced democratic candidate i would not vote for. the gop is in some serious shit if they don’t bring a half decent candidate pretty damn quick.

Wow, dude, what are you afraid of?

How about promoting a republican or some other candidate rather than tearing someone down.

I’m sorry your momma didn’t love you enough.

Being in the military I will have to say with all honesty…and this is from the heart…Hell Yeah the lives were wasted!!! A lot of people died fighting in the war, including friends of mine. For what? We don’t even know who the enemy is…calling it a war on terror has no recognizable face or place…and please don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ve been deployed 13 times. Me and most of the people I work with blame people like you for voting an idiot into office. If Obama is brave enough to recognize and speak the truth, I’ll vote for him…I’ll be in the front of the dam line!

Dear Denni
Either you have had a long career in the military or you are lying. there is no possible way you were deployed 13 times since 2001. and in truth my time spent in Iraq (2005-2006) most Soldiers did not want to be there BUT they understood the mission. so I do not believe you know what you are talking about.
I know that the political views in the US military are varied. But most career service members do not want the reductions to the military and pay cuts that politicians like Obama will introduce.

That choice for GOP will be Ron Paul. Give this guy a serious lookin into. And remember. It’s not GOPs decision to choose their candidate. It’s ours. Vote in your primary or caucus in January or February, whenever it is. Check your dates.

Psh I agree with you… Danni’s claim is a gross exaggeration. As a Medic that has deployed to Iraq 2 times (9 months/12 months) most guys do hate the environment but are glad that we are helping the people of Iraq. Unfortunately the media has smeared the progress and good we have done there. Most Iraqi parents orphan there mentally disabled children on the streets; this is normal and acceptable to the people. We are building care facilities, teaching them that there are other options for their children. We have opened schools, hospitals, and other services that they have NEVER had access to. We are doing good things and the people love us for that. If we pull out and allow extremist to establish themselves…then yes the American lives will be a waste. Obama doesn’t realize that we are committed and need to be committed even if you disagree with the war it’s a necessity that we stay and stabilize the region.
Don’t be fooled by his speeches or the media hype. Be an adult and research all candidates on issues that are important to you.
Mc Cain has my vote

First of all the lives in Iraq were wasted. Our country does not have to go to war with thise countries, our former presidents chose to. They claim to be trying to stop the terrorists attack but everybody knows Iraq had nothing to do with any of them. It was just an excuse to try and take over Iraq’s oil supply which has caused all prices to skyrocket. All the war is doing is taking your money, and the lives of your sons and daughters.

Eric - Get a life
Datgurljoan - you have no idea what you are talking about with oil. Most of the oil the US gets is not from Iraq. Oh by the way the oil we are paying 120+ dollars a barrell for only cost the shieks 3-5 dollars a barrel to process and drill for. That is a huge markup, having nothing to do with the war.
FOR ALL - WE HAVE TWO OPTIONS WITH THESE RADICALS A HOME GAME OR AN AWAY GAME. As long as the fight is in there country, you people can drive safely down the road and not hit an IED, if you have ever seen one go off or been in a vehicle with one then you will thank your lucky stars that your hybrid doesn’t hit a 120mm mortar stuffed with explosives.

BHO will end the war. By the way, he will sit down and talk with our enemies and ask them not to have nuclear arms. They will say ok. He will not allow nuclear arms for the U.S. So guess who will be unarmed. The United States. That should scare everyone. I also watched a special that was a General that was very close to Hussein. He clearly stated there were WMDs and when Hussein got permission to fly aid to the country where a dam broke and flooded everyone, he loaded them on planes and now they are hidden in that country.
